Bet Gabriel

Bet Gabriel on the Kinneret is located on the shores of the Sea of Galilee, was established in 1993 by the Gabriel Sherover Foundation, headed by the late Mrs. Gitta Sherover, together with Ze’ev (Velvele) Shor , the former Head of the Jordan Valley Regional Council, in memory of her beloved son – Gabriel.
The planning and construction of the building were guided by the vision of establishing a cultural home and a spiritual life center for local residents and anyone entering its gates that cherishes culture and the arts.
betGavrielThe buildings uniqueness is in its architectural planning, combining a stone structure with delightful green gardens. The planning and design of Bet Gabriel by the architectUlrich Plesner, Dan Weinman, Arthur Spector, Micha Amissar and interior designer the late Dora Gad, “Ulrich Plesner & Yair Eshel, Miller Blum & Co Enveronmental planning Ltd”, have been awarded the Rechter prize for its archi – tectural design as well as the “Magshim Israel Yaffa” award for its landscaping development. In November 1994 a historical occasion took place in Bet Gabriel when the peace treaty between Jordan and Israel was reconfirmed by the late King Hussein of Jordan and Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin.

Visitors to Bet Gabriel can immediately sense the unique atmosphere that characterizes the house where art , peace and creativity play an integral role.
